Attorney Guillermo J. Chavez was recently recognized as one of the Volunteers of the Month for February 2022 by the Dallas County Alternative Dispute Resolution Center (DCDRC). Recognized for his excellence in mediation and exceeding expectations in settling cases for the Center. Attorney Chavez joins Michael Ray Johnson, UNT Law School Student, in accepting this honor.
The DCDRC began its alternative dispute resolution program in January 2012. The alternative dispute resolution program provides vital legal solutions to parties who cannot afford professional mediation services. Cases are referred from Civil District Courts, Family District Courts, County Courts at Law, Probate Courts, and Justice of the Peace Courts.
Attorney Chavez is a dedicated member of the Dallas-Forth Worth community and is passionate about serving as a DCDRC volunteer. As a volunteer mediator, he provides his services pro bono. He has witnessed first-hand how invaluable the services provided by the DCDRC are to the local community. The alternative dispute resolution program offers hope to residents across the area who are struggling with difficult legal matters.
Who Is Attorney Chavez
Born in the Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras border area, where his family has lived for over 300 years, Attorney Chavez moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth Areas during his adolescence. Mainly raised in Garland, Texas, he went to the University of Texas at Dallas, receiving his B.S. in Accounting in 1998. Subsequently, he received his Juris Doctorate in December 2001 from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville.
After passing the Texas Bar, Attorney Chavez returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he began practicing healthcare collection law. Attorney Chavez is also highly experienced in Family Law, Civil Litigation, and Criminal Defense. Passionate about helping his clients through difficult legal situations, he is also incredibly proud of his work as a volunteer with the DCDRC.
Attorney Chavez is licensed in Arkansas and all federal districts in Texas.
